The NRB launched the Electromobility Guarantee Program on 18 March 2024. Based on a Call for Proposals issued by the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, NRB provides entrepreneurs and companies of all sizes with loan guarantees for the purchase of emission-free vehicles and charging stations. The programme also includes a financial contribution that reduces the cost of purchasing an emission-free vehicle or charging station for entrepreneurs by up to CZK 300k (EUR 12k) per vehicle.
“We paid the first contributions at the end of May, and the NRB distributed the next larger amount to entrepreneurs and companies in mid-June. The disbursement of more than CZK 65 million in financial contributions confirms the clients´ interest in this programme and the openness of Czech entrepreneurs to clean mobility,” says Michal Nebeský, NRB Board Member responsible for business.
In three months, the NRB received a total of 2,361 guarantee applications and concluded 1,772 contracts under the programme. Entrepreneurs and companies applied for loan guarantees for the purchase of 2 467 electric cars, 50 trucks and 962 charging stations.. Approximately 36 percent of the total allocated resources for the programm are currently reserved.
“The grant call for the support of electromobility from the National Recovery Plan has significantly increased the sales of electric cars over the past few months and the interest in this call has exceeded even our expectations,” says Marian Piecha, Chief Director of the EU Funds Section at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, adding: “The simplified system without unnecessary bureaucracy and the efficient funding method we have set up help speed up the application process.”
The Czech Leasing and Finance Association (ČLFA) has the same view of the attractiveness of the programme. “The Guarantee Electromobility programme hasl clearly confirmed the interest of entrepreneurs in electric vehicles. We believe that the Ministry of Industry and Trade will succeed in preparing follow-up programmes that will help to further green the domestic vehicle fleet. The state’s efforts to approach this area conceptually is a promise that the Czech Republic will also succeed in launching the dynamic development of environmentally friendly transport,” said Jana Hanušová, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the ČLFA.
